Canada Day - belated Foto Friday

Yesterday we got to take in the Canada Day Parade (harade - as Makayla calls it) Grande Cache style!  This was my first ever parade (not including the ones in Disney!).  It was fun to see some friends and then to see the floats (they were more like pick up trucks hauling flat beds with things on it!).  We had a good time even though it was freezing out (some people were dressed in boots and winter jackets) and super windy.  Here's a few quick photos!
I'm not so good with the self portraits!

Watching the cars and "floats" go by

Picking up the candy they were throwing

Excited to see what was coming next

Makayla got a flag and she was pretty excited about it

Wild Blue Yonder Rafting had a Pirate Ship -
by far the best of them all!

If you are looking for a great rafting trip, check them out
(Feel free to stay with us if you choose to come and check it out!!!)

Recipe of the Month x3

It's your lucky month!  We recently had a few friends over for an evening and I tried out a few new recipes and I loved them all.  One I had made before.  So, I thought I would share them with you!

I made Skor Bark (last months recipe), Baked Cinnamon Chips with Caramel Toffee Fruit Dip and Baked Spinach Dip Mini Bread Bowls!

I'd post all the recipes, but someone already did and they used pictures, so why not just copy and paste!  I will totally be making all of these again!  Hope you enjoy!!

I think I might just go and get me some more Cinnamon chips with dip!!

Well...

At 4 am this morning I had a great idea of something to blog about.  Now that I have a few minutes to sit down and write, I can't remember what I wanted to write about!

On a side note, my friend Nathan raises a good point.  Recently I too have found out that there are many of you who come by here often and read and never leave me a note.  I would love to know who is stopping by so that if you have a blog I too may be able to come and take a look at what's going on in your life.  It's not fair that you know what's happening in mine, if I can't know what's happening in yours!  So, if you'd be so kind as to let me know who you are I'd love to come by and say hi to you too!

There is no baby yet, although said baby is due to arrive in the next week and a half.  Phil will be coming home tomorrow afternoon for about three weeks and my mom arrives on Saturday afternoon.  So, as long as this baby can stay inside for a few more days, everything should run a - ok!  Thanks to those who continue to check up on me through email and phone calls, I really appreciate it!

I hope you are having wonderful weather like we are.  Take some time to enjoy the sunshine!

So thankful...

I am always amazed at how things just seem to come together. There are a lot of things going on in life (as there always is for everyone). Life is busy, people are busy, work is busy, busy, busy, busy. This summer at church we have a lot of things going on. I think from now until June I only have a few free weekends in which I need to squeeze a lot of things. Phil works out of town two weeks a month, so I am really limited now as to what I can and cannot do with a little one. So, our kids ministry at church is changing its structure starting in July in which I need to find time to meet with all the parents, volunteers, and then order curriculum and do all the scheduling and planning. In the midst of that the church is celebrating 25 years of being in exsistence and there is the long weekend and Easter and Monther's Day and Father's Day and then we have two huge projects that we are taking on! In July we are holding our third AIA (Athletes in Action) Soccer Camp and then in August we are holding an all day Kids Camp. After I committed to holding these events I find out that a whole lot of people are going to be out of town during both of those events. But I figured that there is a reason that we are to hold these events and that is so that kids will have an opportunity to hear about God. So, regardless of how many volunteers I can get we are going to go ahead with these two projects. I have almost all the volunteers that I need for Soccer Camp and almost all the key people for Kids Camp. I am amazed at how things just come together and how people are willing to give up their hoidays or take time off work to help out! I am thrilled and oh so thankful for the wonderful people at our church! I can't wait to see how things go and what the outcome will be! Keep up the good work (and thanks for encouraging me!).

Ode to my new favorite website!

One day I was on the net looking for something (and at this moment I do not remember what it was that I was looking for). I stumbled across God Tube. This is definately my new favorite webstie. If you are going to check out the site, please find the clips that have to do with Mac vs PC (but on God Tube is is Christian vs Christ Follower!). I hope that you will check it out and enjoy it as much as I do! Hopefully you will not find it offensive! This clip (for the life of me I cannot figure out how to make it work) is for all those computer geek fans I have who check my site! If you look for it, it is called "The Ubergeek Bible Translation". Enjoy... in the meantime I will see if I can figure out how to upload videos!
