Back in March I posted this blog about my foot. As of the beginning of this month it still was hurting. I had an appointment with a orthotics company. The guy checked out my foot and said he didn't know what the problem was. He said it looks like it is the beginning of arthritis (which I figured as I tried to self diagnose myself via the Internet - reliable I know!). He said there wasn't much that could be done. He could make me a little orthotic (about $300) or I could go and buy a new pair of Birkenstock (my last pair was from my backpacking trip to Europe about 11 years ago! I guess I need a new pair). So that's what I did. I went and bought a new pair. He then said if things didn't get better in six weeks to go to my doctor and have them x-ray my foot as they couldn't do it earlier as I was pregnant.
I was talking to my mom on July 1 and she had just returned from a personal renewal conference in the States. The speaker at the conference has encouraged people to begin praying for healing. The Bible commands us to pray for healing, for ourselves and for others. While at the conference my mom and her friend were prayed for and both of them experienced heeling's from illnesses that had plagued their bodies for years. So, starting on July 1 I started praying for my foot. I placed my hand on the sore spots and began praying. A few days later the little bump that was on the joint of my big toe had reduced it's size and the pain was very minimal. I have been praying every day since July 1 and can now walk without pain and can wear shoes that I wasn't able to wear previously.
I wanted to share this with you my fellow readers and bloggers because I think that the God who did many miracles back in the day still does miracles today - all we have to do is have faith and believe. I'll admit, the pain isn't completely gone, but I'm trusting that God has a plan. Maybe there is more healing that will come in the future, maybe this is as far a the healing goes. Whatever it may be I am so happy that I can walk without pain and wear my shoes again! I encourage you, if you need healing, pray and have others pray for you - It Works!

Cuteness from the Crib
Makayla does so well when she wakes up in the morning or even from her nap. There is no crying of fussing, usually just talking or singing. It is so wonderful. Lately when she wakes up she starts singing "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" although if you don't know what she is singing it might be hard to decipher it! She also talks and the other morning I woke up to hear her say, "Duck, where are you?". She has a duck face on her blanket and I suspect she couldn't find it - it was so cute! She also has this obsession with the Little Einsteins and for those of you familiar or unfamiliar with them, they are four little kids who go on missions. They have a rocket ship and the only way to get the rocket to go is to pat their legs and say "pat, pat, pat". Then they raise their arms and say, "Blast Off!". Often you will hear Makayla after she wakes up going, "pat, pat, pat, ast ov". Some of you have seen her get into it and sometimes I think she thinks she is one of the Einsteins!!! I feel so blessed to have such a great kid!

For something a little lighter
So for the past few posts I have just had so much to get out of my head and onto "paper". It's always nice to have a place to jot down thougths and have a place to revisit them at a later date.
This blog post is number 200 since I began this blogging journey back in 2005. It's amazing to see how much has gone by and what has transpired in our lives. At this point we are busy looking forward and the future looks good! We have been so blessed and so taken care of by God that we can only give Him thanks for what we have been through.
Thanks to all of you who read these thoughts and view the photos! There will be much more to blog about in the near future. Thanks for sticking with us!

So Thankful
I guess this weekend everyone is writing about how thankful they are for all that they have. And it's true here too! We are SO incredibly blessed to have family that loves and cares for us. We are blessed to have a 16 month old who is so into exploring, walking and talking that we are exhausted by the end of the day and in bed at 9 (either blessed or getting old!). We are blessed to have a house where we can turn the heat on and be protected from all this wind and snow that we have had oer the past week. We are blessed to have a church family who loves and cares for us probably just as much as our own families. We are blessed to have food in our fridge and in our cupboards. We are blessed to have a God that loves us and watches out for us and provides for all of our needs! How blessed we are!
Now to go and enjoy some of that wonderful food (turkey and fixin's) that God has so graciously provided for us!
Blessings to you all this Thanksgiving season!
