On the Move

Greetings!

As I sit here and write this update letter Phil and I are busy packing again! This will be our third move in 15 months! We first moved from Markham, ON to Red Deer, AB as I needed to go back to school and finish my degree and Phil was able to get a transfer and promotion with the Petsmart (the company that he worked with for a few years). Once in Red Deer we realized that it was too long of a drive to Calgary for me to go to school. Thus we decided to move to Calgary. Phil was granted a transfer to a store in Calgary and I was able to get a job at the Christian bookstore (Christian Publications) and go to school to finish my last year of my degree. In February of this year, Phil was offered a new job at a feed distribution company as the warehouse manager. The hours were steady and the pay was more and so he took the job. He has been enjoying it very much!

In February I had a church contact me saying that they were interested in meeting with me to see if I would be a good fit at their church as the Children’s Pastor. I met with them and decided that I would wait until after graduation to pursue anything. In May Phil and I traveled to Edmonton for the weekend to check out the church and meet the people. After that weekend we decided that we wanted to candidate and see where that lead us. The candidating weekend went really well and we decided that we would seriously consider moving to Edmonton. Phil talked with his boss and asked if there were any opportunities for him to work in Edmonton. They let him know that there was a position with the company in the area of sales. After praying through this whole situation and feeling lead to pursue Edmonton, Phil told his company that he would take the job in Edmonton (regardless of whether or not the church offered me the job). Phil needed to begin his job as soon as possible and we decided that we would move at the end of June. We were able to locate a nice little townhouse for us to rent for the next year. The housing market in Edmonton is great and we are hoping to buy within the next year! We were able to leave our place here in Calgary and so now the move is on! We will be leaving Calgary on the 30th of June (just next week!). I have been offered the job and will begin sometime in July. We are really excited about this upcoming opportunity for the both of us.

We have had a lot of adventures the last couple of years and with God in control, who knows how many other adventures we will face! If you are in the Edmonton area, make sure you let us know! We are going to be travelling to Toronto at the end of July and look forward to meeting up with family and friends while we are there!
