Sunday we just hung out and tried to catch up on sleep.
Monday we saw some family from Niagra and went for Dim Sum and then met them for dinner. Phil was starting to feel a little under the weather and the next day had a little fever.
He somehow was well enough to make it to the Leaf game with Makayla and me that evening. The Leafs were winning and so with 5 minutes left we decided that we could leave. We got to the car and turned on the radio and they were headed into overtime at which the lost. Sigh. I have been to two Leaf games in Toronto and both times they have lost to Flordia teams (the first Tampa Bay and this time Florida).
Wednesday we met up with Phil's aunt and went for afternoon tea at the King Edward Hotel. It was lovely and the food was excellent.
Thursday we met up with some friends who are missionaries in Thailand. It was great to see them. Unfortunatly Makayla started to feel a little hot and by the time we headed back to the house she had a pretty bad fever. So that night was no good and she didn't sleep much except for when I was holding her. It really was no fun.
Friday we were able to meet up with some of our old friends from Zion Alliance Church. We went to Eric and Christina's place and did the Hot Pot thing. It was pretty awesome to see them again and reconnect. We truly miss our friends there and were so glad to see them again! Next time we are back, we will try to hook up again and stay a little longer.
Saturday we meet up with some of Phil's cousins for lunch. Saturday evening we met up again with Phil's family and celebrated a bunch of birthdays. It was Phil's birthday and his uncles birthday in January and mine in February. So we had a nice dinner and this most delicious chocolate strawberry cake... yummy! Sunday we were able to go to Zion and take part in a service there. It was great to see old friends and coworkers. Sunday evening we met together with a few of Phil's friends and his family and go and eat all you can eat Japanese food... yummy.
Monday we got up and packed our stuff and headed off to the airport. A few hours later we were landing back in Edmonton.
It was unfortunately that Phil and Makayla were not feeling well. A few other family members were ill that week as well. It was good to see family and friends and have a chance for them to meet Makayla. Makayla totally cashed in since it was the end of the Chinese New Year week. We were so thankful for the care that we were given by Phil's parents and they took really good care of us, making food and watching Makayla. It wasn't much of a vacation as there was so much to do and so many people to see that Makayla didn't nap well and therefore was not always her cheery self. Thus it also made bedtime a little rough and for some reason she decided to wake up in the middle of the night every night but one! It was a little brutal and I'm not sure I want to take any more "vacations" any time soon!
So, that was our Toronto Trip in a nut shell. Busy, but good. We are glad to be back and back in our routine. Not sure when we will make it to Toronto again but we are hoping to go one more time before Makayla turns two so that she can fly for free!

Awww, love the pics Jenn! Looks like you guys had a fun time. It's kinda like that everytime I go home too. It often gets too busy for it to be a real vacation. But I'm glad you guys at least had fun, caught up w/ family & friends, ate yummy food AND cash in for the CNY :) Not bad at all.
Hopefully you guys can catch up on rest now that you're back! But seeing that you had 2 sick babies to take care of, best of luck to you ;)
