Happy Easter!

Well, it is that wonderful time of year when we celebrate the death and reserrection of Christ. It is a time when I stop and reflect on what it is that Christ has done for me and what kind of sacrifice he made for me. I was teaching the older kids this morning and we were looking at John 15:13, where it talks about there is no great love than this, that one man laid down his life for his friend. Jesus loved each of us so much that he showed us and gave us the ultimate gift of eternal life with him. His desire is to be our best friend and have a life with him! Wow... how awesome is that? I really hope that the kids learned something!

On another note, Lent is over!!! I had a French Vanilla Capuccino from Timmy's and then one of the college students brought donuts for us... so I have saved it till this afternoon to eat it! I have to take my time and ease into sweet stuff. The drink this morning tasted so sweet, I wasn't sure that I liked it or enjoyed it. I can't quit forever, but I think I will definately try and resist a little more than I used to! Overall, the fast was good as it let me have some time to give up something that I really love for some time of reflection and communion with God!

Life is pretty good. We just got a new BBQ and had people over on Friday night to enjoy some good eats. We are looking forward to many more weekends of eating with friends and having good times together!

On a sad note, we found out last week that Phil's dog Winston was very sick. When we were there visiting in the summer we took him to the vet as he hadn't been feeling very well. The doctor said that he had arthritis. He gave Winston some meds and sent him home. He was pretty tired and moved very slowly. We knew that he was getting old as Phil has had him for 12 years and he ane Elaine (Phil's sister) brought him home when he was just a pup and he fit in a cardboard box. Phil's aunts have been taking care of him and taking him to the vet since we moved out west. We really appreciate all that they have done for him... Thanks Aunties! They called on Friday to let us know that it was confirmed that Winston had bone cancer and it had spread into his spine and legs. They decided then that maybe it was time for him to be put to sleep. We are all very sad at the thought of losing Winston but we hope that one day we may see him in Heaven. Today they had to put him down so that he will no longer be in pain and that he will rest soundly tonight. It will be weird to go back to Toronto and have no Winston there to greet us. We love him very much and I know that Phil and his family are very sad for this loss and we trust that they will be able to make it through! That about sums it up for now! We miss and love you Winston!
