She walks, talks and plays in the park

It is so amazing how much Makayla has grown. These last few months have been so amazing as she is growing and learning so much. Makayla is learning to walk and talk and do all kinds of other things. I feel like a bad mom because I didn't document when her first word was or what it was. She went from babbling mamama, bababa, dadada to saying a few words, but behold, they are not English words but Chinese words. So these last few months she has been saying three words in Chinese. She says "nigh-na" which is Chinese for milk (nigh nigh). She also runs around the house saying "mau" which is Chinese for cat. And every time we go out to the park or for a walk we see dogs, "whoa, whoa". It is so neat to see her picking up these things, and even I'm learning more Chinese too!

When Makayla was about 6 months old she skipped the crawling stage and began to walk around holding onto our hands. As the weeks went on she was more and more stable and began walking faster and faster. She feels very confident when she can hold onto two hands. So we have begun letting go and letting her only hold one hand. She has been way more stable and more confident holding onto one hand. She has now begun taking steps between people without holding onto hands. It is so fun to watch her learn this.

She has also started taking things out of boxes and bags and then begun putting things back in. She is also starting to figure out how to put shapes into the right hole. So excited to see her growing up!

We also decided to take advantage of the awesome weather and head out to the water park! Here are some photos because everyone likes to see photos of the cute kids! Enjoy!

Hehe. Her new one is "uh-oh!" She kept saying that as she was pulling me around the church yesterday!

And when I was feeding her rice, I tried to get her to say "fahn-fahn" (chinese for rice). She tried to repeat it and did pretty well. Your little girl is not only super adorable but super smart too :) She's so lucky to have you and Phil. Plus she got the good looks AND smart genes. Sweet deal!! :D
