Almost Christmas

I did not realize that I have not updated this for almost a month. Where does the time go? Life has been crazy these last few weeks. Things at church have been in high geer with the Christmas season. Tonight is our English Ministry Christmas Celebration with potluck and program. Last weekend was the Cantonese and Mandarin. Plus the regular Sunday programs. This Friday and next Friday AWANA was cancelled because of the Christmas Break! YEAH... what a treat to have a Friday off! Phil was in Calgary on Friday for his office Christmas Party. Man so many people to see and places to go.

We are looking forward to spending time with friends over the holidays. We will be having dinner tomorrow night with friends and then we are having some friends over for new years. It should be fun to spend time with people outside of church!

Phil has been busy at work and things are going real well. Sales have been doing well and his company has big plans for the New Year, so we will wait and see how that goes! It should make for an interesting year.

Jer is here and has been living with us since October. He has managed to land an awesome job at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He is working as a Nurses Aid. He is really enjoying it and loves the interaction with people. He has also found a place to live and moving day is scheduled for Jan. 8. Hopefully his buddy from Chilliwack will be moving up here at that time!

So, basically life is going well for all of us. Although we are busy, we are really enjoying it. We have lots of snow and it has felt like Christmas since November. You can definately tell that it is Christmas. There are so many people at the malls and the groceries stores. Yesterday I was at Safeway and they had run out of cranberries (frozen, fresh and canned!). I will be so glad when this madness called Christmas is over... the funny thing is that Christmas is supposed to be a time of rest and reflection about the birth of Jesus. Yet, we get so busy trying to buy gifts and get consummed with commercialism that we totally miss the whole point. That has been my thought this season. We are hoping that next year there aren't so many things going on at church so that we can have time to just rest and relax! Anyway....
